Generation Back 2 The Basics
Founder & Certified Etiquette Consultant
Belinda R. Whyte
I am passionate about teaching others what I love, which is hospitality, serving, and helping people. I believe in passing on life experiences and biblical values to each generation in order to build a foundation of generational wealth and prosperity for their children and future generations. A legacy can be anything to pass on to the next generation, not just money; it can be a special recipe, business, property, or anything that holds sentimental value. As a Certified Etiquette Consultant, I want to share my knowledge with children and young adults by teaching them proper communication skills, table manners, how to sit and walk gracefully, and other etiquette lessons using God's values and principles. I learned many of these principles from my own family, who taught me to be responsible, well-behaved, and respectful. In today's world, young people and even adults are consumed with social media, video games, and cell phones and rarely experience the type of upbringing that I had. My mother taught me to open my home to others, to make it a place of family, where everyone shares stories of their day, and where there is always laughter, fun, and good food. Surveys have shown that the average age a child receives a smartphone is ten years old, and 25 percent of children under six already have one. I want to change this narrative and return to the basics of building a community where everyone contributes to creating a village that fosters positive values and traditions. Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
